About Shields

Local business owner, Shields Richardson is a native of Southern California and has lived in Mammoth since 1999.  He and his wife, Kathy, own the Side Door restaurant and Mammoth Village Properties both located in The Village at Mammoth.

Richardson has been Chief Financial Officer of Eagle Development, a Registered Investment Advisor, and the Founder and Principal of Shields Outdoor, MallMedia Network and Digital Outdoor. Richardson began his career at Price Waterhouse & Co. after graduating from the University of Southern California with a degree in Finance and Accounting.

He is a Board member of the Disabled Sports Eastern Sierra, Mammoth Lakes Foundation, Geothermal Institute of Mammoth (GIO),  and Mammoth Lakes Art Center.

About Kathy

Born and raised in Southern California.  Attended Palisades HS, Semester at Sea, and USC.  Owned and operated the San Diego Volleyball Center, and founded COAST Volleyball Club before moving to Mammoth.

I moved to Mammoth in 2001 right after 9-11, looking to retire and work a little in real estate just to keep me busy – get out of the rat race.  However, what started as a part time career with Playground | Intrawest has led to a full time real estate career and business located in the Village at Mammoth.  I love Mammoth and all it has to offer, from the skiing for which we are famous, to all the summer activities – there are endless possibilities as far as outdoor activities.  Being in real estate has offered me the opportunity to share Mammoth with clients, friends and family and see where they might fit into the community.

My husband and I also own the Side Door Café in The Village a great place to meet with friends and share a glass of wine and some great food.

About Andrea

I was educated in Argentina and London, England and am fluent in Spanish and Polish and can converse in French. I studied architecture and have a strong artistic background including being a porcelain painting artist. My background has proven to be very valuable in evaluating homes for our clients, envisioning the potential of the property plus creative and practical problem solving skills.

My husband Mike and I decided in 1996 to spend a winter in Mammoth after he retired from McDonnell Douglas in 1995 as Director of Marketing Commercial Aircraft for South America. The plan was to only spend the ski season here and then return home to Argentina. We rented a condo to see how we liked living here. We must have because we bought a condo after the first season here. Mike’s 33 years experience with McDonnell Douglas in marketing, sales, contracts, and finance has been a great framework when marketing Real Estate here in Mammoth.

We have been active in Mammoth Real Estate for the past 15 years; we know and love Mammoth and the surrounding area.
